If your project needs can’t be met by the WordPress sites we offer, or you require more hosting space or technical granularity than we’re able to provide, other options for building your site include:
- Use a free platform, or custom build and host on your own non-JHU domain and server. You would be responsible for all costs, if any, but you have complete control. You can use WordPress or something like Squarespace—it’s all up to you.
- Have JHU Web Hosting host a website for you. You can contact them for further information.
- Work with an external vendor to build and maintain your site.
Regardless of the path you choose, you will need to start with a good idea of the audience of your website, the main goal of the site, and the general site structure.
Potential Vendors
The easiest external vendors are those who are already approved to work within the Johns Hopkins system, and familiar with JHU branding and web standards.
