Introducing the Gutenberg Block Editor

Krieger Web Services will be adopting WordPress’ new block editor in the coming months. All sites.krieger websites will change this week.

The current editor looks like Microsoft Word or any text editing software. The block editor, called Gutenberg, is now industry standard. We are adopting the block editor because it provides a better editing experience, and is more flexible than the current editor. Here’s what will change:

  • After switching, your existing pages and posts should continue to display correctly.
  • If you need to make edits, you can keep the content in the new “Classic Editor” block, or elect to convert them to paragraph, image, or heading blocks.
  • All new posts (news, faculty books) and pages will be created with the block editor as the default.

To assist with this transition, there are more training materials on our guides page and LinkedIn Learning.

If you can’t fix an issue, please submit a web request.
