The Chemistry Student Safety Committee hosted its first annual Safety Day on October 14th, 2022.

8:30 – 10:00 | Coffee Hour & Safety Fair (Mudd Atrium) |
10:15 – 11:15 | Phutures “Careers in Safety” panel (hybrid) Undergraduate Research at JHU panel (Remsen 233) |
11:30 – 1:00 | Lunch “Your Worst Safety Horror Stories” roundtable (Mudd Atrium) |
1:15 – 2:15 | Counseling Center “Mental health resources for researchers” panel (hybrid) |
2:30 – 5:30 | Lab-specific activities |
6:00 – 8:00 | Happy Hour & Trivia (Mudd Atrium) VR Fire Extinguisher Training (Mudd 26) |

Lab Safety Captains organized activities for each of their labs. A sampling of the activities planned:
- Laser safety training
- Outreach demos safety testing
- Lab Safety “Murder Mystery”
- Lab cleanup & overhaul of old samples
- Inventory and defrosting of cold storage
- Repair of broken rotovap
- SOP updates
