RIC Career Workshop: University Libraries

On Tuesday, February 21, RIC will hold a workshop focusing on post-PhD career opportunities in libraries featuring Heather Furnas and Monica Blair from the Sheridan Libraries at Johns Hopkins University.

The event will highlight the range of career pathways in libraries that would be of interest to students in the Social Sciences and Humanities. It will focus on transitioning to careers in libraries from graduate programs and emphasize ways in which students can continue to pursue their scholarly interests as part of their work in this field. The event will also highlight career pathways in the field of the Digital Humanities.

Furnas received her PhD in American History at Cornell University and is a librarian for History, Africana Studies, and the History of Science & Technology.

Blair received her PhD in United States History from at the University of Virginia and is currently Historian & Education Coordinator for the Hopkins Retrospective Project.

The conversation will be moderated by Sheharyar Imran (Political Science and RIC).
