Jubilee: St. James at 200. Monday November 3rd @ 9PM EST Screening on Maryland Public Television. St. James Episcopal Church of West Baltimore is the oldest African American Episcopal Church in the southern United States. Founded in 1824, decades before the Emancipation Proclamation, St. James has played a vital role in local African American culture and politics for more than 200 years. The film includes a look at the history of the church since its founding, as well as recollections from past and current parishioners and clergy.
