On November 18th at 6:30 p.m. at Union Baptist Church (1219 Druid Hill Avenue, Baltimore), Dr. Minkah Makalani (Associate Professor and Director of the JHU Center for Africana Studies) will present the second mini-course of the Fall 2021 Helena Hicks Emancipation School. In his mini-course, Professor Makalani will present the history of hip-hop music and culture as a global black arts movement. The presentation is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required.
