The LCQ-DecaXP is an ion-trap based instrument equipped with an ESI ion source that is used primarily for studies of bio-inorganic species and high concentration samples. It is similar to the more advanced LCQ Fleet and utilizes the same operating platform. The instrument is capable of operating in both positive and negative ion modes and can also perform MS/MS tandem mass spectrometry experiments for structural characterization of species.
