We are approaching the time when numerical \u201cexperiments will\u2026duplicate the circulation to any desired degree of accuracy\u201d (E. Lorenz).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\">Simulation output must be \u201c<\/span><span class=\"s3\">democratized<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201d so that barriers to dissemination are minimized. The data should be freely available, including to non-professional users. We must sample the simulations the way we sample the real ocean (and in other ways).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s3\">Exascale<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> computational science is on the horizon, and ocean dynamics is a vanguard use case.
