CUORE is optimized to look for lepton number symmetry violation via the neutrinoless double-beta decay of\u00a0<sup>130<\/sup>Te. An observation of this decay would yield new insight into the nature of the neutrino mass, and possibly new clues into the origin of the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column mb-4 px-6 py-8 overflow-hidden bg-white rounded-md shadow-md is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking for Axion Dark Matter with the HAYSTAC Experiment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/haystac.yale.edu\/\">Haloscope At Yale Sensitive to Axion CDM<\/a>&nbsp;(Cold Dark Matter) is a tunable microwave cavity experiment at Yale University. HAYSTAC searches for axion dark matter from the galactic halo by looking for the conversion of axions to photons in the presence of a strong magnetic field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns three-column-feature is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column mb-4 px-6 py-8 overflow-hidden bg-white rounded-md shadow-md is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The CUPID Experiment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cupidexperiment.org\/\">CUPID<\/a>&nbsp;is an upgrade of the&nbsp;CUORE&nbsp;experiment, aiming at searching for neutrinoless double beta (0\u03bd\u03b2\u03b2) decay with Li<sub>2<\/sub>MoO<sub>4<\/sub>&nbsp;scintillating crystals enriched in&nbsp;<sup>100<\/sup>Mo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column mb-4 px-6 py-8 overflow-hidden bg-white rounded-md shadow-md is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Axion Dark Matter Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/axiondm.fysik.su.se\/\">Axion DM project<\/a>&nbsp;leverages the convergence of expertise in axion physics, dark matter detection, material science and cosmology at Stockholm University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Speller Lab is located on the Homewood Campus of Johns Hopkins University in the Bloomberg Center for Physics and Astronomy. &nbsp;Our lab focuses on searches for rare events and new particles, particularly focusing on the search for neutrinoless double-beta decay and axion dark matter.
