The Billie Holiday Project is pleased to award Fellowships for the Advanced Humanistic Study of Black Maryland.
The BHPLA, in collaboration with the Center for Africana Studies, will sponsor one post-doctoral and one dissertation completion fellow per year. Fellowships will support research projects across the humanities disciplines that examine the contributions of Maryland African Americans to the history, politics, and cultural life of the state, nation, and international spheres. Fellows are expected to be in residence full-time, complete a major work or dissertation during the residency, engage actively in the intellectual life of JHU, and make scholarly presentations on campus and among the city’s historically black cultural and educational corridors.
BHPLA will be recruiting for fellows in Spring 2021.
