About Hopkins

Welcome to EducationUSA Academy at Johns Hopkins

We are excited about your interest in EducationUSA Academy!

During the year, Hopkins’ Homewood campus has nearly 4,600 full-time undergraduates and more than 1,600 full-time graduate students in two schools, the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. In 2016, Johns Hopkins ranked in the top 10 best colleges and universities in the United States. The School of Medicine ranks in the top three medical programs in the nation.

Each summer, we welcome over 2,000 students to our campus. They range from Hopkins undergraduates to visiting undergraduates to Pre-College students who are all on campus taking summer courses. While the Homewood campus is in a bucolic setting, it is an urban campus and ensuring students’ safety, both on-campus and off, is a priority.

The ESL Summer Program provides complete language immersion. The full-time program provides at least 22 hours of classroom instruction per week. Morning core courses in Listening and Speaking and Reading and Writing help you to “fit in” at the lab, office, or college classroom. Specialized morning and afternoon courses enable you to “stand out” when taking the discussing American culture. Testing before and advising throughout the three-week term guarantee placement in classes that meet your needs and interests.

The Hopkins Security Department provides an array of services that support students’ well being. A network of emergency telephones is set up throughout the campus that immediately connects to a security office dispatcher 24 hours a day. Uniformed officers patrol the campus at all times.
